This Week's Memory Work: First Catechism Questions:
FC 133 – What sign is used in the Lord's Supper? Eating bread and drinking wine in remembrance of the suffering and death of Jesus. FC 134 – What does the bread represent? Christ's body sacrificed for our sins.
FC 135 – What does the wine represent? Christ's blood shed for our sins.
FC 136 – Who may rightly partake of the Lord's Supper? Those who repent of their sins, believe in Christ and live a new life.
Shorter Catechism Questions:
WSC 107 – What does the conclusion of the Lord's Prayer teach us? The conclusion of the Lord's Prayer, which is, For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen, teaches us to take our encouragement in prayer from God only, and in our prayers to praise him, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to him; and, in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.
