This Week's Memory Work: 

First Catechism Questions:
FC 82 – What is the second commandment? "You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments." 
FC 83 – What does the second commandment teach you? To worship God only as he commands – without any statues or pictures.

Shorter Catechism Questions: 
WSC 63 – Which is the fifth commandment? The fifth commandment is, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. 
WSC 64 – What is required in the fifth commandment? The fifth commandment requires the preserving the honor, and performing the duties, belonging to everyone in their several places and relations, as superiors, inferiors, or equals. 
WSC 65 – What is forbidden in the fifth commandment? The fifth commandment forbids the neglecting of, or doing anything against, the honor and duty which belongs to everyone in their several places and relations. 
WSC 66 – What is the reason annexed to the fifth commandment? The reason annexed to the fifth commandment is, a promise of long life and prosperity (as far as it shall serve for God's glory and their own good) to all such as keep this commandment.
