Keep on Pressing - Phil. 3:1-16

Introduction – In 2015 keep on pressing after Christ.

I.             True Grace Creates a Desire for more Grace.

A.    Paul is not static in his Christian life.

B.     Nowhere in our passage we find any notion of satisfaction with whom he was.

C.    Paul is setting before us what is the normative experience of those who follow hard after God.

II.          Four Reasons We Must Go Hard after God

A.    We must go hard after God in order to know him.

B.     We must go hard after God in order to confirm our justification.

C.    We must go hard after God because we are so imperfect.

D.    We must go hard after God because he has made us his own.

E.     This pursuit of perfection and completeness is a pursuit of satisfaction in God alone.

III.       Three Steps in Going hard after God, 13-14

A.    Develop holy dissatisfaction.

B.     Forget the things that lie behind.

C.    Strain forward to what lies ahead.

Conclusion – Run, my brothers and sisters to win the prize.
